Review guidelines.
Back to my accountShare a firsthand account of your visit. Positive and negative experiences are welcome under the same rules.
- Confirm that you visited and give the visit month. Use 1 to 5 stars and 40 to 2,000 characters.
- Write one review per place. Edit it when your view changes.
- Do not include links, contact details, personal attacks or staff names.
- No paid or rewarded reviews. A discount, gift, payment or drawing entry counts as an incentive.
- No review gating. A negative rating is never, by itself, a reason to hide or remove a review.
- A distillery cannot pay to remove a review.
What appears and when
Your first review, reviews from accounts under one day old, and edits wait for a guideline check. Other submissions may be held when they need a closer look. Three distinct reports hold a published review until it is checked again. Decisions carry a reason. Borderline decisions wait for Shaun.
The count and the 1 to 5 distribution are shown at every volume. An average appears only when a place has at least five published reviews. Opinions never change directory or map order.
Public notes and privacy
Notes start private. You can explicitly request sharing a note on your profile. A requested note is checked before it appears and requires a shared profile too. Keep staff names, contact details, links and personal attacks out of public notes. Making a note or profile private hides that public copy. A review you deliberately publish on a place page can remain there with your display name when your profile is private.
Your account
Accounts are optional. Account terms and privacy information explain what is stored and what sharing means.
